Pretty Good Book In Lieu Of Limited Book Selections On Android Wear Development

This is a pretty good book. The number of books available on Android Wear Development at the moment are pretty scarce. I'm halfway through it and have learned a lot from it. I would suggest people go through the chapters of this book and then fill in some gaps with the official training documents from Google.

I'm an experienced software developer and reasonably experiences Android and iOS developer and I think you should have some Android experience before working with this book. There are a few errors in the text and code, but nothing most developers can't resolve. All of the examples built when imported to Android Studio which was great.

Alex did a nice job with this book and the samples illustrate nicely Android Wear concepts. Having the projects available or download saves a LOT of tedious and error prone typing.

About the Author
Sharon Robinson has been associated with Leonard Cohen since touring with him as a singer in 1979-80. She co-wrote and produced Cohen's 2001 album, Ten New Songs, (one of Rolling Stone's "Top 100 Albums of the Decade"), and co-authored the Cohen classics, "Everybody Knows" and "Waiting for the Miracle." A Grammy winning songwriter, Robinson's work has been covered by artists as diverse as Patti LaBelle, Don Henley, Aaron Neville, and Roberta Flack to name a few. Robinson's solo album, Everybody Knows (2008), garnered wide critical acclaim, as have her recent performances on the Cohen World Tour. Sharon once worked as the staff photographer at the world-famous Coconut Grove nightclub in Los Angeles. Sharon is currently working on a new album that will be released in early 2015.

Leonard Cohen is one of the most distinguished poets, novelists, and singer-songwriters of our time.

Larry “Ratso” Sloman is one of America’s great counter culture writers and contemporary biographers. Bob Dylan referred to Sloman’s account of the 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue, On the Road with Bob Dylan, as, ‘…the War and Peace of Rock and Roll.’ He has been a friend of Leonard Cohen's for 40 years.

Wish I could return it.

Now I am a big fan of Leonard Cohen and Sharon Robinson, but I feel sadly ripped off by the truly poor quality of photos in this book. Maybe some will see them as artsy in a way, but I don't think so. Based on Ms. Robinson's comments in the front of the book, it sounds as if she took the photos with her iPhone, and it shows. Many shots are dark, out of focus, and don't really evoke much of anything about their touring. Also, all the captions are in the back of the book, so you don't know what you're seeing most of the time unless you continually flip. I don't mind seeing someone's amateur trip photos, but for the price, not so much.

Great photos. Perfect set of pictures to have on my cofee ottemon. It's fun to look at all his different moods! Leonard Cohen
Is my hero! This is really a good present, but we are keeping it. Sometimes it is just fun to look at the pictures and think about what an interesting life Leonard has had while living for his passion. Music is an amazing gift. Song writing is a gift. Now, he writes books that we love. It was natural that photography would be included. We have many little books that we love about him or that he wrote. This one has amazing pictures.

Don't want to just look at the pictures

I expected more than just pictures. I was looking forward to an insightful narrative on touring with Cohen from someone who has been close to him for such an extensive period of time . In saying this I do not want to distract from the quality of the photographs. I really enjoyed the eclectic collection.

Disappointing to find the presentation of this hardcover at this price not up to scratch. Within a couple of days the photograph glued to the front cover began to lift. Poor production for a book at this price don't you think ?

One of The Greatest Books in Astrology

The dark moon Lilith (rather than the asteroid or "black moon" by the same name) is one of the most important subjects in astrology. I have put it into over thirty thousand charts and readings and in my opinion it is the most powerful significator in the astrology chart. Most astrologers don't know about Lilith and many think it is fantasy. It is real. A dark moon of earth five hundred miles in diameter, like a dust cloud, but, in a sense, even more like a black hole, it bestows great power, wisdom, and effectiveness when used properly, but great pain and confusion when not. Named after the first wife of Adam in the Talmudic legends, it must be used objectively, creatively, and for universal good, not subjectively, uncreatively, and selfishly, or it will drive you crazy. This book has revolutionized my 35-year fulltime astrology practice. It has helped increase my accuracy tremendously. If you are an astrologer, I recommend you study this book, the only truly accurate book about the dark moon Lilith, and use Lilith in your practice. Delphine Jay is a brilliant writer, astrologer, and thinker. She has revealed Lilith as well as anyone can. If you are a non-astrologer interested in knowing yourself much better, find out where your dark moon Lilith is in your astrology chart (the Kepler program calls this the Jacobson Lilith) and you will benefit enormously. Sadly, this book is not for the average layman as much as the experienced astrologer; but the average intelligent layman can benefit from it enormously. Interpreting Lilith

There isn't much info out there on Lilith so I tend to buy what I find.
This book has lots of Lilith info on sign and house. More than I've seen in other books I own.
I've had to highlight the bare-bones for myself so I can add that to chart interpretations I do for people as
they don't need or want the abundance of info included in this great little book.
This book also has Lilith aspects to the planets, solstice point, directions, dignity and
Lilith in return charting,and her aspects in return charting (to the houses).
You will enjoy sitting back and reading up on Lilith in this book by D.G.Jay.

Takes a simple interpretation too far..

This text says way too much about a relatively small topic. A concise evaluation of each position by house, sign and aspect would be far superior to the multi-page diagnostic that ends up giving a lot of questionable information which in the end obscures the core meaning. When you are reading a chart you are seeking to incorporate each point, planet or asteroid into the energetic whole. You want a good basic idea of the meaning of each part. This book takes the meaning of each placement way too far. While I can see the inversion of certain sign/house related traits in my clients, the book goes on to extrapolate far too much about what those traits produce in terms of interactions and self evaluation. Often I'd get to the end of a chapter that started out on target, saying no, no, no,..nothing like the client.

I couldn't put the book down!

Distant Healing is a fascinating read, I couldn't put the book down! I especially like the author's detailed writing on the human energy field, it was like a text book on energy yet written in an entertaining way. I do yoga, and my yoga work resonated in the book as well.

The book is very hands on, you are left with real life tools to implement long distance healing. I find myself using the techniques constantly, especially if meditating or in yoga, or when dealing with illness in my family. Anyone struggling with illness, or involved in compassionate social justice issues in the world will benefit from this great book! My massage therapist also uses it with great success.

Distant Healing is easy to read and interesting. It has helped me get a better handle on focusing my energy into healing others. It helps you realize how powerful we are when we put our imagination to it. I am excited to share the knowledge with others and have been practicing what I have learned. The book has some very good meditations and visualization exercises to share with others.

I was impressed with this book because the author includes an abundance of exercises for readers to use for practicing various attunement skills. He gives detailed instructions and includes many drawings to hightlight what is occurring. It is useful for beginning healers as well as others with more experience. The exercises become more and more advanced as the book progresses. It can be used as a handbook. It is not essential to read it progressively. Just choose whatever you need or want to work on and go to it. It's a very good resource when used as a teaching or learning aid. I bought the paper version after using my digital version for a while. I prefer paper for books i will use frequently.
