Read this before purchasing a used book between $3 and $20 and make sure CD is included, it's the only way to take the practice

Great book but make sure you purchase it with the CD, which has all the practice exams. Without the CD all you have are the test answers in the back of the book. Taking the practice tests is where you are going to spend most of your time and get the most benefit out of this book! Also be careful buying this book from the sellers who are listing it at between $3--$20 as they likely are not including the CD. Also look for the 2013 edition rather than the 2012, I know the 2013 works great if you are planning to take the test anytime before 2016. One more thing, I would recommend buying a book without highlighting in it as it can throw you off as to where you need to focus and limit your own ability to really learn and what you are reading. Good luck, I just took the test at the end of April and passed on my first try, couldn't have done it without this book. The flash cards were also very helpful!

Good book but lacking in some information

Its a good book to study for the basics in the NPTE exam, I passed the exam with my first attempt. The musculoskeletal section is especially weak compared to the O'sullivan book. The Neurology and research section are probably the best part of the book.Overall, it is a good starting book to read if you are preparing for the exams, I would recommend that you read the O'sullivan book also, as a lot of information is included in that book compared to this one which seems to skim over stuff. The information is well presented in tables and in highlighted colorful sections with emphasis on important information to know for the exam. i would recommend this book as a starting book but read the O'sullivan as well.

Basically what I expected - minor discrepancies noted

Outlines material expected on the PT exam. Pretty much what I expected it to be, no surprises (good or bad).

I did notice some small discrepancies, such as the book stating that the deep peroneal nerve innervates the lumbricals and interossei in the feet. I'd recommend that if you're uncertain about content in this book, to double check it with a PT textbook. I verified a few errors already.

World needs books like this

This book in particular and this TYPE of book in general satisfy an important need: focus on specific subject matter with concise delivery at negligible cost. Johnson's short treatise is a good, efficient discussion of financial statements with one example of company analysis. Not what you'd call a deep dive, but it's well worth the time and money investment and the reader does not have time to zone out while reading. The primary downside - which almost cost a one-star downgrade - is that the lack of attention to grammar and proof-reading is annoying. Short, cheap, focused Kindle books are great but let's not make the language equivalent to Twitter or text messages.

I am a novice at financial analysis and this little book has been a lot of help. But for someone who wants to dig even deeper into the workings of corporate finance and valuation, I realized that there are many more resources out there to help me get a better and thorough understanding of financial reports. Buy the book if you are merely putting on a foot into the art of analyzing companies. Otherwise, find something else with thorough analysis and resources!

Matthew Watkins was born in London in 1970. He trained to be a research mathematician, completing his PhD in 1994, but then left academia to travel and pursue other interests. He has stayed on the periphery of academic mathematics, having been an honorary research fellow at Exeter University since 2000.

The best and most complete books on the subject of the Riemann Hypothesis.

I have read a lot of the existing 'popular' books on the subject of the Riemann Hypothesis (RH) and these three books by Matthew Watkins provide the most complete picture. By this I mean you get all the facts, history and current research on RH that other books also provide, but this trilogy goes deeper, yet in such a way that it remains readable. The subject of RH is in fact very deep and probably only really understandable for the few specialist mathematicians that work with it daily, but still, it also touches on the fundamental and seemingly simple subject of the link between addition and multiplication. We all know what addition is, and multiplication - or don't we really? Since this is the key to a real understanding of RH, the link between addition and multiplication is extensively elaborated, up the point of metaphysics. The conclusion is startling after all - when you start with the natural numbers, you stumble onto the seemingly simple prime numbers, and eventually in our voyage of discovery of how these primes are divided along the natural number line, we see there is an underlying grand scheme that (might, provide RH is true) goes beyond our wildest dream. But the question is, what was there first, our 'primitive' counting, or this vast structure?
I highly recommend reading all three books, since these books go beyond the subject of RH itself, and explains why mathematics and numbers are part of our existence.

"This is a fantastic book. A fabulous book. A splendiferous book!

It's easy enough to say what the book is about: it explains some extremely fascinating properties of the distribution of prime numbers. But that doesn't tell you why it's so great; books about prime numbers are a dime a dozen.

First of all, Watkins (with the help of the illustrations, which I'll get to shortly) manages to explain everything extremely clearly, beginning from first principles—and I really mean first principles; he begins with the definition of the natural numbers and goes from there. The only thing that could possibly stand between elementary school students and an appreciation of this book is their reading ability and attention span, NOT their mathematical abilities. But—and here is the truly astounding thing—I, a PhD student who has studied math my whole life, could not put this book down. Not only was I not bored, I learned new things! How is this possible? Partly, it was due to the fresh, creative, insightful way everything is explained, coupled with excellent writing; partly, it was due to the subject, which starts conventionally enough but soon wanders into fascinating territory unfamiliar to many mathematicians (including this one). A book like this, accessible to young children and engaging to adults, is a rare and wonderful accomplishment indeed!

Very good book.

I think this book is a good eye opener for everyone. Definitely worth the $10 for the book. I don't even know where I saw this book online some where a few months back before it even came out & I wanted it to read even though I haven't been in a situation like this (thank god). It's crazy & sad the book it's self. However most importantly amazing that she mad it out of that lifestyle. She definitely was/is a strong woman. I hope others in her same situation make it out like she did, even if it's a struggle sometimes.

He contends that the persistence of independent commodity production in the fishery of northeast-coast Newfoundland from 1785 to 1855 cannot be attributed to merchant-imposed truck credit practices. He calls for a reassessment of the truck system as a realistic accommodation to the limited possibilities and requirements of the local economy. The rise of the truck system and the household-based fishery was above all a historical outcome which involved the adjustments of settlers, merchants, and governments during a complex period of transition. Elements of the staple model are used to suggest that the resource base of the fishery and the legal institutions of the initial fishing industry limited the ability of fishing families to respond otherwise to exploitation by merchants. Later, reformers struggling for colonial self-government obscured the staple restraints on fishing families in order to discredit fish merchants politically by saying the latter purposefully used truck to impoverish the fishery and prevent agricultural development in order to preserve their hegemony in Newfoundland's economy and society.

Besides newspapers accounts, missionary correspondence, and local government records, Cadigan makes use of court records which have never before been systematically used. These records provide evidence that serves as the basis for his discusssion of family production in the fishery, the unsuccessful attempts by families to diversify production through agriculture, the gender division of labour, and economic development.

Great insight but leaving me wanting more

I received a copy of Wisdom Meets Passion by Dan Miller and Jared Angaza from Booksneeze for my honest review. So here is my honest review.

I was excited to read this book because it claims to show readers how to find work that "integrates your skills, personality traits, and passions; provides a sense of meaning, accomplishment, and fulfillment; be a person's greatest vehicle for living out God's purpose and calling; and ensure an unexpected flow of income and ultimate wealth." However, I feel that this book just didn't apply to me.

First of all, I have no idea what God's purpose and calling is for me, and this book doesn't offer insight as to how to figure it out. Perhaps I am supposed to visit the 48Days.com community online (based on Miller's other book 48 Days to the Work You Love) and pay for a coaching session.

Second, the personal stories told by Miller's son Jared Angaza (yes, son - Jared changed his last name because of his love of Africa) were kind of annoying. I get it. Jared lives "outside the box." He shunned the American way of life - big houses, fast cars, material yearnings - to live and work in Africa with his wife and adopted son. He's been incarcerated. He wrote and passed a law for women's rights. The only furniture his family has is a mattress with homemade mosquito net. They run a sustainable clothing line.

Well, good for them but I like furniture. I like living in my house. I don't think of myself as materialistic. I just want my home to look nice and have enough money to pay the bills and do things that we enjoy doing while also having the free time to do those things. I felt like Jared was saying that the only way to find a fulfilling job and enjoy your work was to give up everything, live in a third-world country, and run a non-profit.

Also, much of what Jared writes for his sections didn't seem to have anything to do with the book's main topic. I guess if you wanted to start an aid organization or non-profit for Africa, it's good insight. But if you're going to tell us the ways in which Africa needs to be helped, just write a separate book.

Wisdom Meets Passion is a good book if you are unemployed and trying to find a new job, perhaps a better job than what you had. It could also be good for a recent high school or college graduate. Some of the book is inspiring and raises good questions, such as "How would your life be different if you were using your strongest God-given talents?" (Well, I don't know what those are, so...)

This book tries to get you to look beyond safe and stable positions. It encourages job seekers to keep an open mind. (Kind of like in dating.) It also points out that a manager of a Taco Bell makes more money than I do, which just goes to show that you can make more than $40,000 a year without getting a college degree. (And think of the sweet discount you'd get on chalupas!)

I think the one thing I will take away from this book is that work isn't meant to be a punishment. Work is supposed to be enjoyable. We are supposed to like going to work and doing what we do, and I can definitely say that I wouldn't enjoy being a Taco Bell manager.

Great advice for anyone

Wisdom Meets Passion: When Generations Collide and Collaborate by Dan Miller and Jared Angaza combines the wisdom of the Greatest Generation with the passion of today's 20-somethings in a book filled with advice for the person who is looking to live their life with more authenticity, courage and faith.

If you only follow your passion, you may end up taking too many risks in your life and career. But if you only follow the wisdom of the elders, you may not take enough risk and end up with a boring, mediocre life with a job that you dread.

In this book, you can learn how to use your unique traits and combine them with dedication and your dreams to live the best life possible. This book is both edgy and insightful and offers a unique perspective by this dad-son team. I also liked how their perspectives included work domestically and abroad. I also liked the solutions for today's reality of job losses, lay-offs and self employment.

Sweet Children's Book

I bought this for an adult AU fan who was already familiar with the book. It is well illustrated, colorful and attractive for children. I just wish there were similar book for adults - with actual photos - relating the wonderful history of Toomer's Corner and its trees. I recommend it for the younger set!

Great book for Auburn fans of all ages!

I am a lifelong Auburn fan, and I think this book is so precious. It does, in fact, touch upon the poisoning of the trees at Toomer's Corner as another reviewer stated, but the message is that the spirit of the trees will live on despite what happens to them physically. Unfortunately the poisoning is now a part of their history but this book reminds us that the trees are more than just trees, as almost all Auburn fans know. The tradition and the memories are what's important and I think that is what we should be discussing with our children so that the spirit will live on forever. The illustrations are also beautiful, which makes it a keepsake for Auburn fans of all ages. War Eagle!

Great book to teach young children about the Toomer's Oaks

Overall, this is a great book to teach young Auburn fans about the history of the Toomer's Oaks. My daughter looks the illustrations, and enjoys me reading it to her. The book is mostly positive, but does have a couple of pages about the trees dying that could be sad to young children. My daughter is a year old and will never be able to experience the tradition with the original trees, but this will be a great way to teach her about them so she will have an appreciation for Toomer's Corner in the future.
