crammed with info

When I first looked through this book I was a little disappointed. I'm pretty visual, so the small pictures didn't grab me at first. Then I started reading the text. Whew! This book is absolutely crammed with useful information. Every paragraph is filled with detailed instruction. The pictures aren't meant to be eye catching and pretty, they are meant to be as functional as possible. This author has done an excellent job anticipating questions and potential problems encountered by new upholsterers. For example, most books I've looked at don't say much about how to properly line up upholstery patterns so that they fall where they are supposed to. I can't imagine anything more frustrating than to work hard on a project, only to have the pattern slightly crooked or misaligned in the final product - that's all I'd ever notice afterwards. This book addresses how to avoid that problem. Needless to say, I am very glad I got this book. Thanks Frank - I'm looking forward to your next one!

The best upholstery book I've ever read!

I'm fortunate to have taken one of Frank's classes. He's great. I purchased this book in the class. I've read every upholstery book that I could get my hands on and this one is the best, yet. It's full of color photos and shows step by step how to re-upholster different kinds of dining room chair seats and features a fully upholstered wing back chair and matching footstool. His instructions for creating a new cushion are the best I've ever read (and used). I highly recommend this book.

Fantastic book about upholstering furniture

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and even though I have several other books on upholstery, this one is the best! The book is up-to-date and provides many tips not found in other upholstery books. The tips are fantastic! Normally, you have to find these things out for yourself and Frank was extremely forthcoming. I think anyone would get a great deal out of this book.
