About the Author
Neil Zlozower is the author of Mötley Crüe: A Visual History: 1983-2005 and Van Halen: A Visual History: 1978-1984. He is also the author of Fück Yöu: Rock and Roll Portraits. Neil lives in Los Angeles.
Steven Rosen has worked as a music journalist for more than 34 years and has interviewed many of the world's greatest guitarists. He lives in West Hollywood.
Steve Vai has recorded more than a dozen solo albums and worked with Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, and many other artists.

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING !!!!!

This is the BEST BOOK that's ever been published for guitar lovers; PERIOD! 150 of the world's best guitarists with photos from the world's best rock & roll photographer and interview snips from a reknown jounalist??? SHOW ME ANOTHER THAT COMES EVEN CLOSE TO THIS!!!
My hat's off to Neil for capturing the real essence of each player and doing what he does best; immortalizing the moment! You can almost hear the sustain of guitars when you open the pages! No other photographer in history has left a footprint on R&R like NZ has and these are images that will remain permanantly etched in your mind!
My hat's off to Steve Rosen for opening the hearts and minds of these amazing players to show you what's inside; you can almost smell the whiskey when you read them! Every player becomes more human and really makes the pages come alive. Steve's contributions are a perfect companion for Neil's masterpiece.
Bottom line: THIS BOOK IS ROCK & ROLL!!!

Must own for all fans of guitars

"At first glance, one would think that this is just a collection of photographs in a book. But once you take a look at any page in the book, you realize that the photos are accompanied by quotes from the subjects themselves. And these quotes are about playing guitar, they are relevant. It is a fantastic look into the mindset of the best rock guitarists of all time. Through the words of the guitarists and the imagery captured in each photo, you get an intimate look at the world that is rock guitar.
As you flip from page to page, more and more rock legends are presented. With each photo, you realize that Neil Zlozower truly has an eye for capturing the moment, he is a master at his art.
The book is not in any chronological order, nor does it need to be read in any particular fashion. Guitarists from various genres of rock n roll are represented from blues to heavy metal. The only legendary guitarists missing are Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Highlights in the book include Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrell, Lita Ford and the man himself, Les Paul.
The quotes from the guitarists are taken from interviews conducted by Steven Rosen and they will appeal to fans and guitarists alike. They add to the photos and make this book a must for anyone has ever loved to hear the magical sounds of a guitar."

Six String Heroes

This is an excellent book which contains superb photographs of the best guitarists in the world, along with interesting quotations from many of them. I especially enjoyed the photographs of my two favorite guitarists, Joe Perry and Mick Mars.
This book is an excellent value and illustrates once again that Neil Zlozower is a master of portraiture.
